-Summer 2002.  I was a full time interpreter at the MacBride Museum in Whitehorse. In that role I learned
a tremendous amount about the Yukon’s history and even more about tourism and educational
entertainment.

-Summer 2003.  I was an interpreter at the S.S. Klondike.  This job was a full on instructional position.  I
led tour groups of up to 40 people on 45-minute tour of the S.S. Klondike National Historic Site.  In this
job I received extensive training from Parks Canada with regards to educating the public about the
Yukon’s history.

-January 2005- January 2006.  I taught 32 students at Rufus’ guitars at tenth and Alma in Vancouver.  I
taught guitarists of ages between 5 and 52 in styles ranging from children’s television show themes to
AC DC.  As a Teacher I pride myself on my ability to find music that interests any individual student and
helps them develop their technique.

-September 2005- June 2006.  I taught at Prussin Music in Kitsilano.  Prussin music is the most highly
reputed private music school in Vancouver and I have 21 students there.  To me, teaching privately is
the ultimate customer service job; if a student isn’t happy, they simply stop showing up and then I simply
stop being paid.  As an instructor I have to be clear and concise with my directions and I have to keep
the student from being bored or hyperactive, even when they just downed a large slurpie!  Many o my
students aren’t very self motivated so a big part of my job is making sure they want to play guitar and
keeping them inspired to develop their skills.
Teaching has also had a tremendous effect on my personal artistic development because it has refined
my concept of playing guitar and forced me to think about the minutest aspects of playing guitar and the
most elementary concepts of music itself.

-September 2006- Present.  I teach at Music Queensland, one of Australia's most exclusive music schools.
